The Son

Peter Miller is a successful professional about to accept an important position in the upcoming presidential campaign. He has a young wife, Beth, and a recently born son. Everything seems to be going swimmingly, despite Beth's exhaustion as she has to manage the newborn alone, but Nicholas, the teenage son Peter had with his ex-wife Kate, appears on their apartment doorstep. Kate can no longer handle the shady teenager who ditches school and seems to resent the world, and has agreed to her son's request to move in with his father and the woman for whom he was left. Peter will have to come to terms with his son's presence but also with his own guilt and family background. Following the success of "The Father," French director and playwright Florian Zeller takes on another theatrical setting drama, based on the play Zeller co-wrote with Christopher Hampton, with a drama that takes place behind closed doors based on family incommunicability.
