Napoli Magica

How does one capture, capture and represent the soul of a city as complex and filled with art, history and contradictions as Naples? Marco D'Amore asks this question in his new documentary, which already from its title takes a stand in attempting an initial definition of the Campania capital: "magical." An adjective that is anything but casual, it will be precisely magic that will be the red thread running through the entire narrative. With "Napoli Magica," Marco D'Amore explores the Neapolitan city with his troupe, asking all the passers-by where its magic has gone, at the same time creating another of its own, somewhere between dream and reality. From Castel dell'Ovo to the Fontanelle cemetery, from the Chapel of the Veiled Christ to the Catacombs of San Gaudioso come alive and come to life along with characters such as Pulcinella, the munaciello or the mythological siren Partenope.
