U.s. Palmese

Etienne Morville, world-famous French footballer but known for his brawler nature, ends up in the crosshairs of criticism and social media after a case of body shaming. Out of the team and with his career in crisis, he receives an unlikely proposal: to play in the Palmese, a small Calabrian team from Palmi, which thanks to the initiative of the retired Don Vincenzo tries a crazy venture to relaunch. Thus, Morville finds himself catapulted into a reality very far from the glamour of Milan: a village with slow rhythms and genuine inhabitants who welcome it with curiosity and mistrust.

At first lost, the champion struggles to find himself, but gradually he becomes attuned to the place and the people, contributing to the team’s rebirth and also to his own personal redemption. Between surreal stunts, visual inserts from comics, hilarious gags and tender moments, U.S. Palmese alternates comedy, sport and modern fairy tale.
