The Brutalist

In 1947, László Tóth (Adrien Brody), a Hungarian Jewish architect who survived the Holocaust, emigrates to the United States with the intention of rebuilding his life and work. Separated from his wife Erzsébet during the war, he hopes to reunite with her as soon as he obtains a visa. He settles down in Pennsylvania, where he starts working in the furniture shop of his cousin Attila (Joe Alwyn). Here, Tóth applies his brutalist experiences, developing an architectural language that reflects trauma and resilience.
His talent attracts the attention of Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce), a wealthy industrialist who commissions him to build an imposing institute. However, the collaboration between the two is complicated by ideological and moral differences. As Tóth struggles to maintain his artistic integrity, he faces personal and professional challenges that test his determination and vision.
