In Viaggio Con Mio Figlio

Travelling with my son is a road movie directed by Tony Goldwyn that explores the nuances of fatherhood, autism and family reconciliation. The film follows Max Bernal (played by Bobby Cannavale), a struggling comedian who lives with his father Stan (Robert De Niro) after his divorce from his wife Jenna (Rose Byrne). Max has an 11-year-old son, Ezra (William A. Fitzgerald), a brilliant child with autism spectrum disorders. The relationship between father and son is complicated, especially when Ezra is expelled from school and parents cannot agree on his future.
In a moment of despair, Max decides to take Ezra and go on a journey through the United States, hoping to find a solution to their problems. During the trip, the two meet different people who help them to reflect on their lives and their relationship. The film addresses themes such as incommunicability, acceptance, the need to forgive oneself and the complexity of being a parent.
