In 1943, during World War II, Rosa Sauer (Elisa Schlott) is a young woman who flees from the bombing of Berlin and takes refuge in the Prussian village of Gross-Partsch, near Hitler’s headquarters, the Wolf’s Den. Here, along with other women, she is recruited by the SS to taste the meals intended for the Führer, to verify that they are not poisoned. Every day, three times a day, Rosa and the other tasters risk their lives to ensure the safety of Hitler’s food.
In this climate of fear and coercion, women make alliances, friendships and secret covenants, trying to maintain their humanity despite the inhumane circumstances. Rosa, initially wary, joins the group and develops a complicated relationship with an SS officer, testing her moral convictions and guilt.
